In Attendance were: Lori Carey, Bob Shepard, Melinda White, Cindy Gaffney, Martin Holt. The staff in attendance: Ed Noonan & Linda Carlson. Minutes from the last meeting were discussed and it was agreed to hold off until the next meeting to approve them. We will be discussing the agenda a bit out of order as Ed will be late. Finance report: Melinda discussed the headway that has been made with regards to finances, the most important factor being the Allen Foundation grant for $20,000 for operating. The line of credit was discussed and the plan for repayment. Next year's budget will be brought to the board at the May meeting. Fundraising report: The Wine Tasting & Auction was discussed and Board members were encouraged to sell their tickets and attend if possible. Most of the auction items were in place but more help was needed. The Soiled Doves event at Toni Broadbents home went well and we made about $2,000. A similar event will be planned as part of next year's budget. Cindy brought to the board some ideas about how to form partnerships with for profit businesses and how it could help the Myrna Loy. It was also mentioned that we should be looking at other sources of income and ways to use the space in the building more efficiently. There was some discussion about the use of the basement for other types of films and a different audience. Ed gave his report and the update on the performance for the past month and the schedule for the summer "Mondays at the Myrna". There was also discussion about beginning the planning for the 100th birthday party event and year of fundraising around Myrna Loy's Birthday. There was a discussion about the issues with Pat Shannon, and the Charles Kuralt Memorial Concert. Ed gave a detailed explanation of how the situation occurred and our level of participation. Melinda will respond with a letter and she and Ali will determine a meeting date and time if needed. The meeting was adjourned and the next scheduled meeting will be May 24, and will be the Myrna Loy Annual meeting with election of new officers.
