The year 2002 ends with Excitement and Hope at the Myrna Loy Center. Excitement over all the great projects, shows, and films that continue to be the main work of the Myrna Loy Center in serving Helena and the surrounding area. In 2002, we were able to show over 60 of the best films released in the US. We've installed a new film sound system. We've brought exceptional national performances to Helena. We are doing what we always did and doing it well. Hope for the new year is for growth and stability.

In 2002, we raised over $300,000 in grants from state and national foundations and agencies that have allowed us to:

• bring the best of regional and national artists to Helena and surrounding area schools and classrooms;
• create exciting projects like Project Bandaloop's "PORTAL, A Dance in Three Movements," to be performed in the Summer of 2004. The first movement will be at the ARCH in St. Louis, the second movement will be at the GATES of the Mountains, and the third movement will be at St. John's BRIDGE in Portland on the Willamette near the Columbia; and
• bring one of the biggest national contemporary art projects to Montana in the summer of 2003 like the upcoming summer's "Geyser Land".

All of these grants help us to run great programs, but we need your financial help for the daily operations of this historic building and all the good work that is done here. Without your generosity as the foundation of the Myrna Loy Center, we couldn't support the opportunities that come our way. Because of the Helena community, the MLC has a national reputation as one of the best small western town film, performance, and education centers in the country.
